Previously, he worked as an attorney-at-law in a renowned Zurich law firm specializing in construction and real estate law. He completed his education at the University of Fribourg and graduated in 2003. He was admitted to the Zurich bar in 2007.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Areas of Expertise<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to his legal studies, Michael Merz gained wide practical experience in the construction trade. He worked for 5 years as a structural engineer in project planning and construction management, and for 9 years as a building supervisor in a major Swiss construction company. Michael Merz has an in-depth knowledge of contract law (in particular contracts for work and services and contracts for planning) as well as construction, planning, environmental and public procurement law. He has advised in arbitration and conciliation mandates in the area of construction law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>At present, Michael Merz is advising, among others, owners and building contractors in connection with the purchase of real estate and\/or the executing of building projects. Besides his consulting work, he conducts regular litigation work on behalf of his clients. In addition, he lectures in the field of construction and planning law, and he gives training courses in these areas. Furthermore, Michael Merz conducts ongoing mandates in the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>public procurement and competition law<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>diverse litigation
